Michał Piasecki

Michal’s design work merges coding, digital manufacturing, personalization and design inspired by nature. The aim was to create a design that is centered on users’ needs and preferences while minimizing waste and creating in sync with nature. This inspiration resulted in co-founding Tylko in 2014 together with Mikolaj Molenda, Hanna Kokczyńska, Jacek Majewski and Ben Kuna.

Michal wrote the first algorithms that led to the intuitive personalisation of furniture by customers of Tylko. During Tylko’s first years, Michal worked on all aspects of the company, from business model strategies to team building.

A graduate of the Faculty of Architecture, the Warsaw University of Technology, the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia in Barcelona and Adaptive Architecture and Computation at the Bartlett, UCL, London – Michal’s unique, and comprehensive academic background led him to work with a number of high profile design studios in Europe such as Joris Laarman Lab.

In 2011, he founded the interdisciplinary design studio Bridge with Mikolaj Molenda, Hanna Kokczynska and Jacek Majewski, before the team joined forces with Ben Kuma to form Tylko.

In 2016 Michal left an active role at Tylko, remaining a co-founder and shareholder, and now dedicates his energy to the facilitation of inner journey sessions with breathwork and meditation as well as to social business ideation and coaching.
